I hesitantly ordered this without getting a chance to physically look at the lamp in advance. When it arrived, it looked exactly as pictured, perhaps better because of the rustic finish that can't be captured in images. However, it was significantly bigger than what is perceived from the images here. I guess the lack of any reference in the images makes judging size a problem. Anyway, decided to keep it because it really looks very elegant, classy, and rich.

First off - the lamp is beautiful...and rather large in person so be aware. I've got two of these lamps and they vary slightly in color...the gold on the base isn't the same, and the color of the shade is slightly off as well. It comes with a rather chunky electrical cord which is a very bright yellow color...not good for hiding. The lamp itself is pretty heavy duty and they've used a better than average light socket with a nice on/off mechanism.
Lastly - and perhaps most irritating- is the fact the lamp DOES NOT COME WITH HARDWARE TO ATTACH THE SHADE TO THE BASE. I had to go to the hardware store and purchase a metal piece that affixes to the light socket and allows the shade to be clamped on. In addition, there is no ornamental screw on piece that bolts the shade to the metal fixture. It shows a very nice one in the picture, but rest assured- the two lamps I ordered did not come with these parts. Calls to Amazon were not fruitful because you are talking to someone in a call center who does not and can not see these items in the warehouse before they are shipped. So they really dont' know what is- and what is not included.
If the lamp weren't the exact color, style and size I wanted I would have given a more harsh score. The beauty of the item makes up for the lack of hardware and other difficulties. It is well built and looks great.
