This lamp arrived today and we put it together and used it this evening. While it is plastic, it is textured and an attractive brown color. It is solidly constructed with a firmly attached shade and a heavy base, which should keep it from blowing around easily. It appears waterproof and corrosion resistant. For use on a porch, we did not want an expensive lamp and this one is an outstanding value compared to other similar lamps.
